Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with MS/Tele experience and a requirement for night shifts and floating.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a MS/Tele patient population
• Care for patients post-bariatric, urology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, surgical oncology, and abdominal trauma procedures, including those with wound vacs
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15)
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
• Must complete 8 weekend shifts during each 6-week schedule period, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• No on-call required
• Local candidates not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Responsibilities include providing care for post-surgical and trauma patients with complex needs and managing wound vac changes
• Must be willing to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Completion of modules is required before start and annually as part of compliance
• A drug screening with clear results is required for assignment eligibility
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license in MO or compact state, and must also hold a Kansas license or compact license due to floating
• Minimum 2 years of specialty PCU/MS/Tele experience required
• Must have at least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no gap in employment greater than 90 days during the past year
• Certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIH)
• Two references required, with at least one from a supervisor or higher and the second from a charge RN; both must be from the past year
• Pending license accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO)
