Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology position caring for hematologic oncology patients, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least one year of MS/Onc experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a Medical Surgical Oncology unit with mixed acuity, including PCU-level and MS-level patients
Care for adult patients diagnosed with a range of hematologic malignancies, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
Special procedures include autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
Day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) shifts available, working 3x12 hour shifts per week
Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation are required
Central and peripheral line as well as PICC line management are integral to the role
Responsibilities include managing care for acutely ill oncology patients and supporting complex transplant and cellular therapy cases
Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including oncologists, transplant specialists, and support staff
First-time travelers accepted
No mandatory 30-day break between assignments is required for this role

Requirements

Active OH or compact state RN license required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in medical/surgical and oncology nursing required
Telemetry monitoring and rapid response team experience required
Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, and management of various line types
Heme Onc experience strongly preferred
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
ONS chemotherapy certification and Oncology certification preferred but not required
