Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in DC, requiring a DC RN license and strong critical care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
  • Fast-paced environment treating urgent care, psych, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients
  • Shifts are 12 hours, 3 days per week, with mid-shift start times
  • Patient care includes medication titrations, management of arterial lines, mass transfusion, and chest tubes
  • RN will coordinate and deliver care to patients with complex needs, ensuring safety and quality
  • Responsibilities include managing care for diverse patient populations in a trauma-capable environment
  • Must provide two manager/supervisor references verifying recent experience, with at least one from the most recent employer
  • Must provide documents such as social security card, driver’s license, COVID and flu vaccination records, and date of birth for consideration
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality emergency care

Requirements

  • Active, non-pending DC RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior ER experience in a US hospital setting
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Certifications required: NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, and ACLS (AHA only)
  • BSN highly desired
  • CPI certification mandated by position
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number
  • No local candidates within 50 miles eligibility
