Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring LDRP skills, a current NC or compact RN license, and at least two years of LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital labor & delivery/postpartum unit with 8 beds
• Patient population includes labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, GYN surgical, and newborn care
• Night shift schedule from 7pm to 7am with a 36-hour work week
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Travelers are scheduled to work 75% of holidays
• Patient ratios adhere to AWHONN guidelines
• Floating required to multiple facilities within Region 2 according to department needs and within scope of practice
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda Warmers
• Responsibilities include comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care with some GYN surgical patients
• Supported by a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, case managers, RTs, OB and pediatric physicians, and lactation consultants
• Regional floating is required; travelers must agree to float per departmental needs
• Two-day departmental orientation provided in addition to hospital orientation
• Navy blue scrubs are required to and from work; hospital-issued scrubs to be worn while on duty
• Free parking is available for staff

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of recent LDRP RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
• Must have experience in all aspects of LDRP care, circulating C-sections, newborn care (including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring), and lactation support
• Experience in a hospital LDRP setting required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
