Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position with expertise in ENT, plastics, and ophthalmic surgical cases, requiring WI or compact RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
- Handles surgical cases in ENT, eye (vitrectomy, open globe repair), and plastics (abdominoplasty, DIEP flap, breast reconstruction) specialties
- Complex procedures including cochlear implants, arch bars, facial repairs, radical neck dissection, tracheostomy, acoustic and craniotomy, direct laryngoscopy, and more
- Uses specialized surgical equipment such as Constellation, Straight Shot, liposuction, neoprobe, NIM, Piezo, Klein Pump, Stryker Navigation, and microscopes (Pentero, Mitaka, Leica)
- Day/evening 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:40 am to 7:10 pm
- Weekday and weekend call responsibilities, with possible holiday call requirement
- Floating required; travelers may be scheduled in multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver timely perioperative care
- Coordinate and communicate operating room activities to maintain efficiency and facilitate case progression
- Implement safe, competent, and efficient care within established policies and standards for perioperative patients
- Call coverage may extend to holiday periods as needed
- Travelers are the first to float when required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the primary work site
