Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist with OR experience and active MI license for a hospital diagnostic radiology assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the diagnostic radiology department with a primary focus in the operating room (OR)
• Work in the hospital setting using both fixed and mobile radiology equipment, including in IPD, OR, and ER areas
• Schedule offers either 3 twelve-hour shifts (11:00 AM–11:30 PM) or 4 ten-hour shifts (1:00 PM–11:30 PM) with every other weekend required
• Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital as needed
• Exposure to high-voltage equipment and potential radiation when proper precautions are not followed
• Duties include preparing and assisting patients for radiologic exams, independently determining appropriate positioning and technique, and performing both fixed and mobile imaging procedures
• Responsible for utilizing radiation protection measures and following infection control practices
• May select and administer IV contrast media and monitor patients for reactions
• Completes all required documentation in both PACS and RIS systems
• May participate in training and orienting new staff or students
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Initial training will be provided
• Must report to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the assignment
• Be prepared for exposure to potentially contagious patients, with all necessary safety protocols in place

Requirements

• Active Michigan radiology technologist license required if applicable
• ARRT registration or eligibility; if registry eligible, registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years radiology technologist experience required
• OR experience is required
• High school diploma or GED is required
• Must complete online modules and receive a passing score prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination required
