Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position with charge nurse responsibilities or willingness to orient to the charge role.

Responsibilities

• Work on the 4th floor Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Utilize interdisciplinary collaboration and communication to coordinate patient care
• Responsible for point of care testing and promoting a safe, clean hospital environment
• Expected to participate in professional development and quality improvement activities
• Strong communication and patient/family education skills required
• Must complete background check and drug screen within specified vendor and timeline

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state required
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• Charge nurse experience highly preferred or willingness to orient to charge nurse role
