Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Cardiovascular OR position requiring cardiac, vascular, and hybrid experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Cardiovascular Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of those requiring cardiac, vascular, and hybrid surgical procedures
• Work schedule consists of 8 hour day shifts from 06:30-15:00, 5 days per week over a 12 week contract
• Includes 2 weekday call shifts and call every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Cerner EMR is used in this facility
• Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
• Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, planning and prioritizing care, demonstrating clinical competencies, providing patient and family education, and acting as a patient advocate
• Work may include frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and moderate work area noise is expected
• Call and weekend/holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• All travelers may stay on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
• Requires reporting to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment
• Scrub and circulate duties with adherence to departmental safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
• Must have experience in cardiac, vascular, and hybrid OR procedures
• Ability to both scrub and circulate required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred or required within 5 years of hire date
• Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, and lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
