Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Telemetry position requiring a current MI RN license, BCLS, and travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position in the Stepdown Unit of a short-term acute care, Magnet, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
  • Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
  • Patient ratios are 1:4-6
  • Care for adult stepdown/telemetry patients, including telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • Expected to float to all adult acute care units as needed
  • Required to work three weekends per four-week schedule
  • No on-call requirement
  • Local candidates accepted with no radius rule
  • Must not request block scheduling
  • No first-time travelers accepted for this position
  • Scrub color is hunter green
  • Parking is free with badge access to the garage
  • Up to 5 days of RTO allowed per assignment, to be submitted at the time of application
  • Specific RTO blocks are not approved during restricted dates
  • Returning staff or travelers must wait 12 months before returning if previously employed
  • Online modules must be completed prior to the start of assignment

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required by start date
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
  • Current BCLS certification from AHA required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • ACLS, CPI, NIH, ventilator management, and conscious sedation experience preferred
  • Level 1 trauma experience preferred
  • Must be able to provide proof of HS education
