Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a new ICU unit, requiring Epic experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a brand new ICU unit with 12 beds and an average daily census of 11 patients
• Patient population includes respiratory failure, DKA, sepsis, post-surgical (neuro, cardio-thoracic, general), stable single organ trauma, and stroke
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3
• Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Float required to ICU and ED for helping hands and patient sitting, using a team nursing approach
• Uses Epic for documentation and Omnicell for medication management
• Special procedures include arterial/central line management, telemetry, Bipap/High Flow, epicardial wires, and chest tubes
• Special equipment provided includes lifts in every room, noninvasive fluid management system, and telemetry monitoring
• Unit orientation is 36 hours
• Scrubs may be any color
• Team nursing and helping hands approach is utilized on the unit
• Must provide references for consideration (traveler may start with second reference pending)
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a different rate
• Flexibility is required as the unit is new and processes may evolve

Requirements

• Active RN license in NH or compact state required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required
• Epic experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or Red Cross required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Former employees of any facility associated with SolutionHealth are not eligible
