Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown position requiring strong cardiac care skills and a VA or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work in a cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit caring for post-cardiac surgery patients after ICU
Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts weekly, scheduled every other weekend
Patient population includes cardiac surgery patients requiring telemetry monitoring
Responsibilities include managing chest tubes and handling dysrhythmias
Floating may be required in rotation with staff according to facility policies
EPIC EMR is used; onboarding class type depends on prior EPIC experience
Responsible for comprehensive monitoring and care of post-cardiac surgery patients in a stepdown setting
Must attend EPIC onboarding determined by experience level unless returning within the last six months
Flu vaccine required during flu season; exemptions must follow CMS guidelines and receive facility approval
COVID vaccination required or approved exemption as per facility guidelines
Facility is smoke and nicotine free
Must be prepared to work some holidays as assigned
All requests for time off must be included at initial consideration and are subject to approval
Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler

Requirements

Active VA or Compact RN license in hand
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum two years of RN experience
Experience with cardiac telemetry/stepdown patients, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia recognition
Experience with cardiovascular surgery (CVSD) patients and telemetry required
Proof of licensure and documentation required for consideration
Completion of EPIC Clin Doc training based on recent EPIC experience
