Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry position requiring strong cardiac skills and expertise in chest tube and dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry unit caring for post-cardiac surgery patients after ICU
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts and every other weekend required
• Patient population includes cardiovascular surgical stepdown patients with telemetry monitoring needs
• Experience with chest tubes and dysrhythmia management is necessary
• Floating may be required in rotation with staff
• Epic EMR is used; required Epic class will be determined based on recent experience
• Role includes managing post-cardiac surgery patients, monitoring telemetry, and caring for patients with complex cardiac needs
• First time travelers may be considered
• Travelers must not have been a staff member at the facility within the past year
• Facility is smoke and nicotine free
• Expect to work some holidays as scheduled
• All Epic training/modules must be completed during orientation, with class assignment based on prior Epic experience
• Required to keep time off requests to a minimum and include any requests in initial application

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license in hand required at time of consideration
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Experience with telemetry, CVSD patients, and cardiac stepdown nursing
• Experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias required
• Proof of licensure must be provided
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1st - Mar 31st), with exemptions possible per guidelines
• COVID-19 vaccination required, with exemptions possible per guidelines
