Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for high-risk patient care, requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with high-risk obstetric patients
• Night shifts available in 3x12 or 4x12 hour formats from 6:45pm to 7:15am
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating to sister units within scope as needed
• LDRP experience preferred
• Utilizes Epic charting system; prior Epic experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Care for high-risk laboring patients and assist with deliveries and immediate newborn transition
• Modules must be completed pre-start and require approximately 4 hours
• Block schedule requests require managerial approval and depend on unit needs
• Holiday coverage may be required based on staffing needs
• Parking is free on site
• All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted for approval at the time of application
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required; SC license in hand preferred
• Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Experience with catching and transitioning infants after delivery required
• AHA BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
• STABLE certification preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Must reside outside a 60 mile radius to be eligible for the travel rate
• Previous perm or PRN staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year
