Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of experience, a compact or NC RN license, and strong remote telemetry monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient Med/Surg Tele department caring for a diverse patient population, including specialized stroke (neuro) cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5 to 1:6
• Night shift schedule with 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required
• Floating required to all associated healthcare facilities within the system
• Use of Epic EMR is mandatory
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry preferred
• Responsibilities include specialized care for stroke and neuro patients as part of a diverse Med/Surg team
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is strictly enforced
• No study materials for the EKG exam will be provided by the facility; candidates should be prepared in advance

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Mandatory Epic charting experience
• Proficiency in feeding tube care, port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Experience with CVA, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac
• Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance, with up to two attempts allowed
• Must reside a minimum of 50 miles from the facility
