Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position with an active NY license and EPIC EMR experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Critical Care Float Pool of a hospital
- Care for ICU-level patients across multiple units as needed
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating to various critical care units required
- EPIC EMR system is used and prior experience with EPIC is required
- No blocked scheduling offered
- Float to multiple critical care units, including neuro and surgical ICU as assigned
- RTO must be requested with submission for approval
- More than three call outs in a 13-week contract leads to termination; makeup shifts must be completed within six weeks
- Travel pairs are not permitted for this assignment
- Candidates must not live in specified New York counties within a 50-mile radius
- Competency assessments and testing must be completed prior to starting
- Must provide all required documentation for profile consideration
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent critical care experience
- Current certifications from AHA or RQI required
- Competency testing for ICU required with up to 2 attempts to pass
- Experience with EPIC EMR required
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
- Medical documentation required for flu vaccine exemptions; personal or religious exemptions not accepted

SICU is clickie and you can get fired easily. Some providers seem rude to black travelers
