Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years of experience and the ability to perform modified video swallow studies for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an inpatient Speech Therapy unit
• Primarily treats adults in inpatient acute care, with additional caseload including premature infants in the NICU for feeding needs
• Caseload of approximately 9–10 patients per day
• Must be proficient in performing modified video swallow studies
• Cerner EMR is used in this position
• 8-hour day shifts starting at 8am, one weekend per month required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of SLP experience required
• Active state SLP license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications will not be accepted
• COVID vaccination required
• Crisis Protocol certification required
• Proficiency in performing modified video swallow studies
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Treats a mixed population of adult inpatient acute care patients and premature infants in the NICU with feeding needs
• Burgundy polo shirt and dark pants are the required dress code
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Candidates residing in AZ must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates, as determined by driver's license address
