Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a LA or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, CPI, and proficiency with Epic.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro ICU of an academic medical center
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:45 – 07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Average daily census of 10 with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Floating only occurs to other ICUs when Neuro ICU is overstaffed or another is critically understaffed
• Care is provided to neurological ICU patients
• Epic EMR experience required
• Staff may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectations to remain onsite or assist during events as directed by management
• Royal blue scrubs required
• 5-day orientation provided and includes required modules
• Employment is not eligible for anyone who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency with the health system within the past year
• Must provide two Manager/Supervisor references for clearance before starting
• Holiday coverage may be expected according to unit guidelines

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license in hand
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CPI required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro ICU or ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 65 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
