Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position requiring a compact or LA RN license and strong Epic and neuro critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro ICU of an academic medical center
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:45 to 07:15
• Average daily census is 10 patients, with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Potential float requirement only to other ICUs based on staffing needs
• Every other weekend required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Participation in emergency team assignments may be mandatory during emergency events, with possible requirement to remain onsite
• Five-day orientation with required modules completed during this time
• Employment not permitted if previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractor within the past year

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience
• Current AHA certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Epic charting experience required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Must reside at least 65 miles from the facility
