Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Med/Surg position in Hawaii, requiring a current HI RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital environment as part of the Flex Pool, floating between various medical and surgical units
• Patient populations include adult med/surg, step down, and cardiovascular cases
• Three primary units: Medical (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute (18 beds), and Cardiovascular (15 beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: 1:8 for medical nights, 1:6 for Laulima, and 1:4 for cardiovascular
• 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715, scheduled for 36 hours per week following orientation week
• Utilizes Meditech EMR, pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Floating is required among the Medical, Laulima, and occasionally Cardiovascular units
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
• Travelers must be in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health
• Orientation provided for each unit assigned
• Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required
• Medical and religious exemption requests are not accepted for required immunity documentation

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required at start of assignment
• Minimum of 2 years' recent med/surg or step down nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Ability to use Meditech EMR and specified equipment
