Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Stepdown position requiring a CT or compact license and prior trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Pediatric Stepdown unit within a large acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center caring for pediatric patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• Floating within the hospital may be required
• Epic is the charting system used; experience preferred
• Responsible for providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a stepdown environment
• Royal blue scrubs must be worn
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start
• Return staff must have a two-year break in service to be eligible as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is auto-approved; more than 7 days requires approval

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending accepted with proof of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric stepdown RN experience
• Trauma center experience in a large facility is required
• Current BLS certification required
• Reference required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID-19 and booster required unless exempt
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
