Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring a MI license, telemetry skills, and travel nursing background.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Stepdown unit
  • Level 1 Trauma, Magnet designated, and teaching hospital environment
  • Typical patient ratios are 1:4-6
  • Telemetric monitoring and dysrhythmia management required
  • Three weekend shifts required per four-week schedule
  • Night shifts are 12 hours (19:00-07:30)
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required to all adult acute care units within scope
  • Epic EMR used, experience required
  • Local candidates accepted with no radius rule
  • Must provide advanced nursing care for adult Stepdown patients with telemetry needs
  • Hunter green scrubs required for this unit
  • Free parking provided with badge access
  • Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start
  • Five-day maximum RTO policy per assignment; RTO must be submitted at time of application
  • Block scheduling not available
  • Not open to first-time travelers
  • Returning staff must wait 12 months after employment to be considered

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required by start date; compact licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Stepdown RN experience required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management experience required
  • Proof of high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, ventilator management, and conscious sedation experience
