Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with WA or Compact license, thoracic and vascular experience, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room with robotic, general, urology, gynecology, bariatrics, minor vascular, plastics, and thoracic cases
• Candidates must have direct thoracic and vascular OR experience and be able to take call independently
• May float to other operating rooms within First Hill Campus based on needs
• Shift is four 10-hour days (7:00-17:30) on a variable schedule set every 6 weeks
• Call includes three weeknight shifts (11p-7a) and three weekend shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) per 6-week schedule; 30-minute call response time required
• Weekend shifts and schedule adjustments may occur depending on unit needs
• Facility uses Epic EMR and previous Epic experience is required
• Expected to assist with a wide variety of surgical cases including robotics, general, urology, gynecology, bariatrics, plastics, thoracic, and minor vascular
• Floating to other ORs within the campus may be required based on operational needs
• Travelers must be flexible with scheduling changes which are generally discussed in advance
• All onboarding requirements including modules, health screenings, and background checks must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Reliable transportation required due to call and scheduling needs; travel pairs must have separate vehicles
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Requested time off must be outlined at submission; additional RTO may not be accommodated after contract is finalized

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of application
• At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Demonstrated experience with thoracic and vascular surgical procedures
• Proven Epic charting experience required
• Prior employment as permanent staff with Swedish, regardless of unit or specialty, is not permitted
• Must submit two supervisory references covering at least one year within the past three years in a comparable setting
• Ability to float between departments and meet 30-minute call response time
