Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist proficient in both peripheral and neuro IR with a minimum of 18 months experience and current ARRT and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based interventional radiology department with 4 IR procedure rooms including 2 single plane and 2 biplane Siemens c-arms
- Covers both vascular and neuro interventional cases, including but not limited to angiograms, embolizations, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE and intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, and central line insertions
- Two IR techs per room with rotating roles for scrubbing and circulating
- Level 1 trauma, Level 1 PE, and Level 1 stroke center environment
- Night shift, four 10-hour shifts per week from 21:00 to 07:00
- On-call required every 3rd or 4th weekend from Friday 17:30 through Monday 07:00
- Floating to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals is required
- Charting done in Cerner EMR
- Responsibilities include scrubbing, assisting, and circulating for a variety of advanced IR procedures on both adult and neuro patients
- Candidates must be willing and able to float as needed
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- RTO policy automatically approves 5 days or less of non-holiday requested time off; more requires approval
- Must work 2 out of the 3 major holidays if scheduled during assignment
- Local Indiana candidates are accepted for this allied/interventional radiology position
- Any previous permanent or PRN employee must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who have accrued 12 months with IU Health must meet the break requirements before reapplying
- Scrubs are required per hospital policy
Requirements
- Current ARRT and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 18 months to 2 years experience in peripheral and neuro IR
- Candidates must be able to scrub both peripheral and neuro vascular cases and perform a variety of interventional procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, drainages, venous access, and neurological studies
- University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
- IN state or Compact license required prior to start date; license required if applicable
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma/PE/stroke environment preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Two supervisor references required
- COVID and flu vaccination may be required as part of onboarding
