Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a weekday orthopedic assignment with a focus on cardiac MRI and NYS licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Orthopedic specialty setting with advanced MRI technology
• Performs imaging for both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Operates in a single MRI room with average of 7 scans per day
• Works with Omnicell unit system and documents in EPIC
• Day shift schedule, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, no weekends required
• May occasionally need to stay beyond scheduled hours to accommodate inpatient scans
• No floating or rotating shifts
• Responsible for high-quality image acquisition, patient comfort, and collaboration with radiologists and clinical teams
• Must provide two managerial references from the past two years for consideration
• Parking is free in the assigned employee garage; street parking is also available
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Support available includes pharmacy, PT, radiology, rapid response, social services, and interpretation services
• May require EKG testing if assigned to certain units

Requirements

• Current NYS Radiologic Technologist License (hard copy required)
• ARRT (MR) certification required
• Current BLS and IV certification required at start
• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
• Proficiency in MR cardiac imaging with and without contrast
• Experience with musculoskeletal MRI scans including extremities, pelvis, and joints
• Experience starting peripheral IVs and preparing/administrating contrast media
• COVID vaccine required with no exceptions
• EPIC documentation experience preferred but not required
• Teaching or community hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Return staff must have a 1-year gap before reapplying
• RTO not permitted in first 2 weeks and limited to 5 days or less
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• License required if applicable
