Description

American Traveler seeks an RN with at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a LA or compact license for a night shift position on a busy telemetry unit.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, renal, and general med-surg overflow
• Common diagnoses: chest pain, CAD, arrhythmias, CHF, MI, renal failure, COPD, GI bleed, sepsis, COVID+
• Special procedures include pre/post cath lab, sheath removal, ablations, vascular surgeries, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs are used
• Night shift position, 3x12s from 18:45–07:15
• Required to work every other holiday
• May float to all other inpatient units as needed
• Local travelers not accepted; must reside more than 65 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Proficient in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, titration of cardiac drips, and sheath removal
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, port accessing, wound management, and isolation precautions
• Ability to start IVs and administer blood products
• References from 2 manager or supervisor are required for contract clearance
• NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during critical events, requiring on-site presence until the event passes or participation as a relief team member
• Participation in modules and orientation is required and scheduled during initial days
• Previous staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1 year separation from the health system to be eligible
• First-time travelers with 2 years of experience are welcome to apply
• No call-in permitted; reliable attendance is essential
• No specific schedule requests, such as block scheduling, can be guaranteed
