Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU contract, requiring CVICU experience, WI or compact RN license, and proficiency with NextStage CVVH and Epic.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
- Care for patients following cardiac and thoracic surgeries, transplants, and with complex medical devices
- Night and evening shifts with 8 or 12-hour options from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Day-to-day assignments may include floating to multiple units or locations based on staffing needs
- Travelers are the first to float if needs arise
- Use of Epic for charting and NextStage CVVH machine required
- Care for complex cardiac, thoracic surgery, and heart/lung transplant patients on an acuity adaptable unit
- Be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced cardiac care using cutting-edge technology
- Orientation is typically one week and scheduled based on department needs
- Pass/fail telemetry competency testing required before starting, with strict criteria and limited attempts
- Scrub color or dress code not specified in this posting
- Holiday coverage is required, and first-time travelers may be accepted in some units
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum two years of acute care RN experience in CVICU within the last three years
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last year
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required, with successful completion of a telemetry exam prior to start
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site location
- Locals within the 50-mile radius are not accepted
