Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Special Care Nursery Level 2A) position requiring MA RN licensure, NRP, and BLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level 2A Special Care Nursery within a hospital setting
- Primary patient population is high-risk neonates during and following delivery
- Floats to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Twelve-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (7p-7a)
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Local travelers permitted at a reduced rate with a 50-mile radius rule
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in accordance with hospital policy and state regulations
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for high-risk newborns
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary care team
- Perform patient and family education as appropriate
- Participate in unit and hospital quality improvement initiatives
- Support staff development through mentoring and preceptorship
- Adhere to holiday work expectations per assigned schedule
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Previous experience in special care nursing of newborns strongly preferred
- Must have experience attending deliveries
- Travel RN experience required
