Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Special Care Nursery Level 2A) position requiring MA RN licensure, NRP, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 2A Special Care Nursery within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population is high-risk neonates during and following delivery
• Floats to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Twelve-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (7p-7a)
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Local travelers permitted at a reduced rate with a 50-mile radius rule
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in accordance with hospital policy and state regulations
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for high-risk newborns
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary care team
• Perform patient and family education as appropriate
• Participate in unit and hospital quality improvement initiatives
• Support staff development through mentoring and preceptorship
• Adhere to holiday work expectations per assigned schedule
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Previous experience in special care nursing of newborns strongly preferred
• Must have experience attending deliveries
• Travel RN experience required
