Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in an acute care setting requiring an active NE or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care on a Med/Surg unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:5
• Position includes care for post-operative recovery and oncology med/surg overflow patients
• Work in an acute care hospital with Level 1 trauma designation
• 12-hour night shifts are required
• Floating within scope may be needed
• EPIC is used for electronic medical records and experience is preferred
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas and refusal to comply will result in contract termination
• Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Only nasal cannula oxygen equipment is used on the unit

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS certification is required
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience is required
• Submission requires a copy of a valid driver’s license for radius determination
• Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates cannot have been employed in any capacity by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
