Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and strong EKG interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital stepdown unit with a medical-surgical telemetry patient population
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• RN must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Dysrhythmia exam required at orientation with provided study guide
• EKG testing is conducted on the first day, with two attempts allowed for passing
• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administers medications in compliance with state and hospital standards
• Serves as primary point of contact for care coordination
• Required to adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions and advocate for patient needs
• Holiday and every other weekend coverage is expected

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required prior to providing direct patient care
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia/EKG exam at orientation
• Locals within 50 miles are not eligible
