Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Labor & Delivery travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 24-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift hours from 7:00AM to 7:00PM
- Staff includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretaries, and leadership
- Labor nurse ratios are 1:1 most of the time; post-partum and nursery ratios are 5-6:1
- Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, and newborn and post-partum care
- Utilizes GE fetal monitors
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is Meditech and CPN
- Provide nursing care for laboring, antepartum, and post-partum patients and their newborns
- Navy blue scrubs are required; MIU nurses have pink badges for infant security
- Team includes educators and leadership for support during shifts
- First-time travelers are considered
- References required based on state of licensure
- A complete and current work profile is required for consideration
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
