Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of recent acute care experience, BLS and ARRT(R)(MR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Acute care hospital environment with Level 1 trauma designation
- Work with outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients
- Operate GE MRI scanners (1.5T 450W and 3T 750W models)
- Standard MRI acquisition sequences and IV starts required
- EMR system used is Epic
- Shifts are 8 hours each, with scheduling options for days (6am-2:30pm), evenings (2pm-10:30pm), and nights (10pm-6:30am)
- Must work 1 weekend per month and possible holiday coverage
- No call or standby required
- Orientation lasts approximately 1 week, depending on scanner familiarity
- Responsibilities include MRI scanning, starting IVs, and adhering to MRI safety protocols
- Team support includes one MRI Tech assistant per 8-hour shift
- Department-specific orientation provided, tailored to GE scanner experience
- Scrubs are not provided; standard solid-colored scrubs required and tattoos must be covered
- Clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles are offered a local rate
- Negative drug screen required for all panels
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist in an acute care setting
- Active BLS (AHA) certification required
- Current ARRT (R)(MR) certification required
- Experience operating GE MRI scanners (1.5T and 3T) preferred
- Proficiency in MRI safety guidelines and starting IVs
- Experience with Epic required
- Active IL license required if applicable
- Certifications and license must be active at the time of consideration
