Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist with ARRT (MR) certification and cardiac MRI experience for a full-time orthopedic assignment in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

• Work in a specialized orthopedic imaging setting serving neonate through geriatric patients
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional extended hours to accommodate inpatient scans
• No weekend shifts required
• Average of 7 visits per day with a staffing ratio of 1:2 in a single MRI room
• Primary focus on cardiac MRI exams with both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Utilizes EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for unit systems; experience with EPIC is preferred
• Provider support includes interpretation services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, social services, and transportation
• Experience with Siemens MRI equipment and PACS is preferred
• Responsibilities include performing high-quality MRI scans, ensuring patient comfort, and collaborating closely with radiologists and clinical teams
• Charcoal gray scrubs are required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Return staff must have a 1 year gap before eligibility to return as a traveler
• No more than 5 days of RTO are allowed, and no time off within the first 2 weeks of assignment

• Background check policy is case-by-case
• Teaching hospital and EPIC charting experience are preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active NYS Radiologic Technologist License is required for consideration (license required if applicable)
• Current ARRT (MR) and BLS certifications required
• IV certification required at start
• Minimum of 2 years MRI technologist experience including cardiac MRI with and without contrast
• Proficient in preparation and administration of contrast media and starting peripheral IVs
• Preferred skills include experience with a broad range of musculoskeletal and advanced cardiovascular imaging, as well as pediatric and adult acute care settings
• COVID-19 vaccination is required
