Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience for a day shift assignment in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital operating room setting
• Day shifts, 7:00AM to 5:30PM, 4x10 hour shifts per week
• Some early cases may start at 6:30AM
• Rotating weekday and weekend call required
• Cares for surgical patients in a Level 1 Trauma environment
• Epic EMR is utilized and prior experience is required
• Responsible for delivering perioperative care, patient assessments, and documentation according to unit standards
• Works collaboratively with the surgical care team and provides feedback to peers
• May not work at Carle Health for more than one year continuously; a six-month break is required before returning
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract is allowed
• No travel partner arrangements are accepted

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Minimum of one year relevant operating room nursing experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
