Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring a NE or compact license and strong acute care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute hospital setting on a combined Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
• Serve adult patients with occasional pediatric cases (rare)
• Common patient diagnoses include post-surgical care, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, and cancer
• 60-bed unit located on 7 West, 7 East, and 5 East floors
• Patient ratio is typically 5:1
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• Float to 6E, acute rehab, and geriatric psych units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
• Trauma level 2 facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Collaborate within a diverse team and emphasize a positive, supportive work culture
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• COVID vaccination status must be provided
• Unit serves a diverse population, including African American and Korean-speaking patients
• Orientation includes 12 hours of training
• Floating within designated hospital areas is expected
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Successful completion of a pass/fail open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Driver's license required for residency verification (must reside at least 50 miles from facility)
• Candidates may not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN for any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• Two professional references required, including one supervisor from the past 12 months
