Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Day Shift Med/Surg position in Hawaii requiring an active HI RN license and at least two years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital flex pool, floating between various medical and surgical units
• Patient populations include adult med-surg and occasional step down
• 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915, scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation
• Assignment involves floating to Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular units as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical 1:6 days/evenings (1:8 nights), Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4
• Meditech EMR is used; familiarity preferred
• Equipment includes pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Flex RNs float between and support multiple acute units as clinical needs dictate
• Orientation is provided on each assigned unit
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of assignment
• Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs are required
• Plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday prior to a Monday start to attend required Employee Health screening on Friday

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by contract start date
• Minimum 2 years of recent med-surg nursing experience required
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC preferred
• Must provide documented proof of immunity; medical and religious exemption requests are not accepted
