Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position in a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring an active IL RN license and strict compliance with floating and scheduling policies.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Trauma ICU setting with acute and critically ill patient populations
• Day shift position working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month
• Mandatory floating may occur to various units and other facilities within 50 miles, sometimes outside primary area of competency using a team-based model
• Uses Cerner EMR
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed with no more than 2 consecutive days; RTO not approved for weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
• Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided
• Returning staff are subject to full recredentialing and orientation
• First time travelers are accepted
• Team-based models are used when floating outside of primary competency
• Proof of all required vaccinations must be submitted one week before start
• Failure to meet compliance expectations may result in contract termination

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must provide proof of COVID vaccination prior to starting; boosters not required
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Lab work for compliance must be completed within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
• Candidate must be highly responsive to all compliance and documentation requests
