Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg night shift position requiring a VA or compact license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital medical surgical unit with a focus on inpatient surgical patients
• Care for adult and select pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on surgical procedure
• Handles cases including general surgery, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine, and bariatric surgeries
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be prepared to work holidays as scheduled according to the assignment
• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday
• THC use is strictly prohibited; medical marijuana cards are not accepted and drug screening is required during compliance and on day 1
• Fit testing for respirator use is required and candidates must be clean-shaven unless they have an approved exemption
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved prior to assignment
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but shifts may be grouped together if available

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required at time of application
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience in an inpatient surgical setting
• Previous surgical experience required
• Will not consider candidates who have worked at the facility within the past 24 months
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• No pending licenses accepted
