Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Neuro Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Adult neurological patient population, including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and medical overflow
• Unit includes 5 beds dedicated to continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4–5
• Night shift position with 3×12 hour shifts from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am
• Weekend requirement is either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• Floating to other units within clinical skillset may be required
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Responsibilities include monitoring adult neuro patients, managing epilepsy monitoring beds, and supporting neurosurgical recovery and stroke management
• Must work at least one holiday during each 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Two references are required for job consideration
• Candidate must provide a copy of driver’s license and social security number for compliance

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required (pending license only accepted if from a non-compact state with a single-state license)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior clinical experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and emergency response
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care skills required
• Experience with medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration), and respiratory support needed
• Must be able to provide care for patients requiring rapid response and follow isolation precautions
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Must be comfortable with patient ratios up to 1:5
