Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CO or compact RN license and circulator experience for C-sections.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 10-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 5 labor-delivery and 5 postpartum rooms
- Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30) on various days
- Patient care includes laboring mothers, surgical C-sections, and postpartum patients
- Charting is completed using Epic EMR
- Floating within scope to like units as needed to meet facility requirements
- Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of 5 per 6-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods
- Clinical leadership experience and an interest in mentoring RNs are preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- A maximum of 10 days RTO is approved per 13-week contract, with blackout dates during high-volume periods
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- Completion of pre-assignment modules is required and included as part of onboarding
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Circulator experience for C-sections is required
- Certifications required: NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Previous employment with the specified health system within the last two years disqualifies candidates
- Return travelers must wait at least one year after completing a full-year assignment before being considered again
