Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC/IICU) position requiring at least two years of RN experience, cardiac monitoring proficiency, and a SC or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Intermediate Care (IMC/IICU) unit with adult trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology patients
• Typical patient ratios are 1:3
• Patient care involves frequent monitoring or interventions every 1–2 hours
• Equipment available includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work six weekend shifts per six-week period
• Must float to other qualified units or campuses as needed based on census
• Uses Epic EMR with at least one year of recent Epic experience required
• Care for direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
• Agency staff will only float to units where they have documented competencies
• Holiday coverage may be required in accordance with unit needs
• Current travel candidates must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for night shifts; candidates living under 50 miles are ineligible
• First-time travelers are considered if all critical care requirements are met
• All time off requests must be submitted at booking and are subject to approval

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum two years of recent RN experience with at least one completed travel assignment
• ICU or IICU experience required, including management of complex and acute cases
• Critical care experience is required for first-time travelers, with a minimum of three years in specialty
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and ventilator management required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Two professional references required for consideration
