Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a WV or compact license, ACLS, and proficiency with conscious sedation and ventilator care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital ICU setting
• Day and night shifts available, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units may be necessary
• Patient population is critical care with an average daily census of 0.2
• Uses CPSI EMR; previous experience preferred but not required
• Conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management required
• Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in the ICU, including sedation and ventilator management
• Scrubs are not provided; wine and/or burgundy colored scrubs required
• Orientation is held every other Thursday with required modules to complete prior to the first shift
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Perm employees must wait 2 years after last date worked before returning as travelers
• Candidates currently employed by Vandalia Health System are not eligible for travel contracts at this facility
• Holiday coverage and RTO must be discussed prior to assignment confirmation

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license; pending licenses acceptable for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required, with at least 1 year current ICU experience
• Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); all must be American Heart Association if required by the unit
• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilators
• Minimum two manager or charge references from the past 2 years required
• Permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from the facility; 75-100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis
