Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit featuring post-surgical and trauma care, with a VA or compact RN license required.

Responsibilities

Position is on an acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 26 beds
Patient population is primarily post-surgical and trauma, with a mix of general surgery and medical cases
All rooms equipped for cardiac monitoring, capnography or end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry
Night shift work (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00) with every other weekend and every other holiday required
13-week contract
Epic EMR is used and experience is required
Floating within the facility in accordance with scope of practice is expected
Care for a diverse population of post-surgical and trauma patients and monitor with advanced technology
Must follow facility float policy and provide care within scope if floated
Must complete required modules during orientation, up to 16 hours non-billable
Return staff must be separated for at least one year and approval required; maximum of 365 days allowed on assignment regardless of time off
No local candidate restrictions or mile radius rule applies to this unit
Holiday coverage is required as part of the contract

Requirements

Active VA or compact RN license required (can apply with license pending but must have license in hand prior to start)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not required
Previous experience in acute care and telemetry setting preferred
Experience with Epic EMR required
Two professional references required for consideration
BSN preferred
