Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NC or compact RN license with on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Cardiac Cath Lab of an academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation
• Provides care for patients undergoing cardiac caths, Impella, Watchman, TAVR, ECMO, Clips, and pediatric cases
• Handles an average daily census of 20-25 patients in a 5 OR department
• Shift schedule is 10-hour day shifts, 0730-1630
• On-call required one day per week from 1630-0730 and every 5th weekend from Friday evening through Monday morning
• Call back response time is 30 minutes and a sleep room is available
• No floating to other departments is required
• Weekend and holiday rotation consists of on-call coverage only
• Uses Epic, Cupid, and Sensis EMR, and Siemens x-ray systems
• RN responsibilities include circulating, monitoring, administering medications, and supporting sedation cases
• Scrubbing experience is a plus but not required
• Orientation includes standard medical center orientation and up to 2 weeks in the Cath Lab
• Team structure provides support from assistant clinical manager, physicians, RRT, RT, and anesthesia/CRNA staff
• Department prioritizes patient safety in a collaborative environment
• Scrub uniforms are provided
• Free parking is available onsite
• Requests for time off must be approved by the manager
• First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred

Requirements

• Active NC or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a cardiac cath lab required; 2 years preferred
• Proficiency with sedation, medication administration, circulating, and monitoring required
• Experience with Epic, Cupid, and Sensis systems preferred
• Ability to care for both adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity, trauma-level setting
