Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU travel assignment requiring a NJ or compact RN license and critical care or PACU experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting
• Patient population includes pediatric through geriatric surgical patients
• Flexible day shifts with possible 9am, 10am, or 11am start times, for 10- or 12-hour shifts, four days per week
• Uses EPIC charting system
• May float to a nearby sister hospital as required
• Perform assessments, documentation, and direct patient care for post-anesthesia surgical patients
• Utilize emergency equipment and demonstrate skill with surgical and anesthesia procedures
• Deliver patient and family education pre- and post-operatively
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism, safety awareness, and patient confidentiality
• Work collaboratively as part of a perioperative team
• Expected to follow safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent PACU or critical care experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• CCRN or CPAN certifications preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility (no local candidates)
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
