Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg unit in Michigan, requiring an active MI RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit caring for general, vascular, bariatric, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Collaborative interdisciplinary care team environment
• Responsibilities include individualized patient assessments, care planning, and collaboration with the health care team
• Work in a unit that values shared governance, teamwork, and evidence-based holistic care
• Supportive team environment with structured orientation for new staff
• Strict attendance policy in effect; three absences or late arrivals over 20 minutes may result in contract termination, with exceptions for documented serious illness
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be approved

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Completion of a nursing skills checklist within one year of application required
• Travel experience is preferred but not required
• Former full-time employees must not have worked at this health system within the past six months
