Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position with oncology and step-down experience, requiring an active MI license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a medical oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those with a cancer diagnosis, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Use of Epic EMR system
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology, step-down, and general medical patients
• Assess patient needs, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with the clinical team to update and revise treatment plans
• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• No more than 5 days of requested time off can be approved
• Local travelers can only complete one travel assignment at this facility

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license must be maintained throughout the assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
• Oncology nursing experience required
• Ability to care for step-down patients required
• Experience with Epic EMR highly preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms from the last two years required
• Skills checklist in Med/Surg completed within the last year required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
