Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma and Cerner experience for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital OR environment within a short-term acute care facility
• Patient population includes general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics cases
• Required to circulate; scrub experience is preferred
• 21 operating rooms with an average daily census of 70-80 cases
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting; Cerner experience required
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (11:00-23:30)
• Six on-call shifts required within every six-week period
• Rotating holiday coverage is required
• Float within hospital or nearby affiliates as needed
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsible for circulating and/or scrubbing in a variety of OR specialties
• Must be well-rounded and current in most OR areas except CV and Transplant
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be able to float within hospital or to nearby affiliates as required
• RTO policy allows up to 5 days of requested time off to be auto-approved
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates are accepted for surgical services positions
• Free parking is available onsite

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or RQI) required and current at time of consideration
• Minimum of 3 years OR nursing experience required, including at least 2 years in a Level I trauma center
• Graduation from an accredited university (ACEN or CCNE)
• Ability to circulate required; scrubbing experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required
• Must not have been a perm or PRN employee at this health system within the last 12 months
