Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma and Cerner experience for a day shift position.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital OR environment within a short-term acute care facility
- Patient population includes general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics cases
- Required to circulate; scrub experience is preferred
- 21 operating rooms with an average daily census of 70-80 cases
- Uses Cerner EMR for charting; Cerner experience required
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (11:00-23:30)
- Six on-call shifts required within every six-week period
- Rotating holiday coverage is required
- Float within hospital or nearby affiliates as needed
- Scrubs are provided
- Responsible for circulating and/or scrubbing in a variety of OR specialties
- Must be well-rounded and current in most OR areas except CV and Transplant
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must be able to float within hospital or to nearby affiliates as required
- RTO policy allows up to 5 days of requested time off to be auto-approved
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates are accepted for surgical services positions
- Free parking is available onsite
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI) required and current at time of consideration
- Minimum of 3 years OR nursing experience required, including at least 2 years in a Level I trauma center
- Graduation from an accredited university (ACEN or CCNE)
- Ability to circulate required; scrubbing experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR is required
- Must not have been a perm or PRN employee at this health system within the last 12 months
