Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma center in Illinois with urban ED and trauma experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Emergency Room setting at a Level I Trauma center
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units may be required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Weekend coverage is required every other weekend
• Orientation includes 2-3 hours of modules completed during onboarding
• A maximum of 7 days RTO (requested time off) is allowed
• Former permanent staff of University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls must be separated for at least 7 months to be eligible

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED required
• Prior teaching hospital experience preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
