Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Staff Development Coordinator role in a long-term care setting with SPICE certification and LTC experience required.
Responsibilities
- Work in a long-term care Medical Surgical unit
- Day shift schedule with 5x8 hour shifts from 08:00 to 17:00
- Staff Development Coordinator responsibilities within a nursing and rehab center
- Required to be available for direct patient care as needed and assume on-call nurse responsibilities per policy
- Responsible for orienting new employees and scheduling educational in-services for nursing staff
- Provide annual skills day training for nurses and nursing assistants
- Ensure all nursing licenses and certifications are up to date and renewals are processed
- Investigate incidents and medication errors, and monitor infections within the facility
- May provide direct patient care and support as needed
- Must be able to work holidays per unit requirements
- Locals are accepted at the regular rate
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- SPICE certification required
- Long-term care (LTC) nursing experience required
- Minimum of one year current experience relevant to the Med/Surg position
- Documentation of work experience within the past 3 years required
- Current license with no pending actions
- Two supervisory references required
