Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Staff Development Coordinator role in a long-term care setting with SPICE certification and LTC experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a long-term care Medical Surgical unit
• Day shift schedule with 5x8 hour shifts from 08:00 to 17:00
• Staff Development Coordinator responsibilities within a nursing and rehab center
• Required to be available for direct patient care as needed and assume on-call nurse responsibilities per policy
• Responsible for orienting new employees and scheduling educational in-services for nursing staff
• Provide annual skills day training for nurses and nursing assistants
• Ensure all nursing licenses and certifications are up to date and renewals are processed
• Investigate incidents and medication errors, and monitor infections within the facility
• May provide direct patient care and support as needed
• Must be able to work holidays per unit requirements
• Locals are accepted at the regular rate

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• SPICE certification required
• Long-term care (LTC) nursing experience required
• Minimum of one year current experience relevant to the Med/Surg position
• Documentation of work experience within the past 3 years required
• Current license with no pending actions
• Two supervisory references required
