Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist RN for an Infection Prevention unit, requiring a GA or compact RN license and expertise in infection control.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Infection Prevention unit of a hospital setting
  • Focus on infection prevention, surveillance, education, and epidemiologic investigation
  • Day shifts, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Occasional on-call rotation may be required
  • Lead compliance with infection prevention policies and regulatory standards
  • Develop and implement surveillance plans and analyze infection data
  • Provide education and competency-based training to staff
  • Advise faculty, staff, and students on infection prevention issues
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives
  • Promote a culture of safety and regulatory compliance within the organization

Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license required
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in epidemiology and infection prevention
  • Experience with surveillance for healthcare-associated infections using NHSN and CDC guidelines
  • Experience providing infection control education and consultation to multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to conduct investigations and root cause analyses for infection clusters or outbreaks
